My Tattoo Story

I got this tattoo for my sister. She died in a car accident so I wanted to get something to remember her. I found this heart tattoo design on the internet and I really liked it so I wanted something similar. I thought the little flowers were just precious and she would have loved them. The ones in the picture were pink but I got these in blue because that was her favorite color. The initials in the banner are hers. I wanted to get the initials tattooed in a font that was kinda girly but still readable so the artist did a really good job because it’s exactly what I wanted. I planned this for about 2 weeks before I got it done. I did a lot of research for heart tattoos and memory tattoos before I decided on this picture. It was a couple of months after she died. The heart tattoo means a lot to me because it’s for my sister. My mom wants to get a heart tattoo now too to match.

When and Where

I got this done at No Shame Tattoo in Raleigh NC. The artist was this really awesome girl named Carrie. She did a fantastic job. The studio is off of old wake forest road, it’s nearby where I go to school otherwise I would never have seen it because it’s a really small place.

The Experience

The experience was great, carrie was super patient with me and she seemed really cool. it didn’t hurt too bad at all, some of the spots near the top smarted a bit. It took about an hour total to do the heart tattoo, we took a bit of a break before she was finished but it wasn’t too long. I wasn’t nervous because I knew I really wanted the heart tattoo but I was anxious that it turn out good.

The Future

I’m not sure if I want anything more. I was going to go to carrie to get hope on my wrist but I heard she died so thats not going to work out. I was going to get the hope tattoo for me, to remind me to have hope always. I think a hope tattoo would suit me but i want it done in white and no one seems to want to do white tattoos.
