My Tattoo Story

My sister and I have always been into baking. We love baking everything from cake to cookies. So when she asked about maybe getting tattoos together the only thing I could think of was to get a cupcake tattoo. I love my cupcake tattoo. It’s the most awesome baking tattoo I have ever seen and would absolutely get it again. I have thought about getting another cupcake tattooed on me but maybe a different kind. The cupcake tattoo reminds me of my sister and the good times we’ve shared. I’m the fat girl in the family so it’s really appropriate for me to have a giant cupcake tattoo on my back. I didn’t really spend too long planning it. I knew as soon as she figured out when we were going that I wanted something to do with baking for the two of us but not sure exactly what. The artist was the one who suggested a cupcake and I let her draw what she wanted. I was really happy with the cupcake design she came up with for the tattoo.

When and Where

I got the tattoo done at cherry bomb tattoo in Roanoke VA. I knew the tattoo artist was a friend of some of my friends so I was really confident in letting her do my tattoo. The cupcake tattoo cost a bit more than I expected but I think it was worth it because I got an amazing tattoo at the end. The tattoo studio is in the town I live in and it pretty close by. There are lots of other tattoo parlors in town so I think the only reason we went there is because the artist was friends with someone we knew.

The Experience

I definitely wasn’t nervous when I got the cupcake tattoo. I’ve never been nervous, well maybe on my first, to get tattooed. This was my third tattoo so I knew what to expect when she started tattooing the cupcake. I really liked how she drew out the idea and put the stencil on first for me to see. The tattoo stencil let me see exactly where the cupcake would fit on my shoulder. It was a bit too big at first so she had to shrink the tattoo down. The tattoo took about two hours but it seemed like it took forever when she was doing it but I was happy to see the end result.

The Future

I’ll probably end up getting way more tattoos. I’m still young yet! I think I want to do a rainbow triangle tattoo on my wrist next, or really any kind of rainbow tattoo would be a good start. One of my friends has love tattooed in rainbow on her arm and it looks sick but I don’t want to copy. I have thought about putting the rainbow tattoo on my foot maybe because it will be easier to cover for work.
